Shipley Foundation, Inc., was originally established by the late Charles and Lucia Shipley, who co-founded the Shipley Company in 1957 In the basement of their home in Newton, Massachusetts. The Foundation, through its grant-making, strives to improve people’s lives in the United States and abroad by catalyzing innovation, building capacity, and responding nimbly to need in numerous areas, including the following:

  • Education
  • Medical research
  • Animal welfare and conservation
  • Support for immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers
  • Services and support for veterans and their families
  • Hunger relief
  • Substance use disorder treatment and care

Grants are made only to organizations identified by and known to the directors. Unsolicited applications for funding are not being accepted at this time.
